July 1
Kick off Parks and Rec month with us at the Activity Center, 4201 Guardian Street in Simi Valley. We will be playing some jumbo games in our Activity Room #3. Stop by between 3 - 4 pm. 

July 2 
Interested in playing some kickball? Join our staff on the Softball Fields at Rancho Simi Community Park at 4 pm for some fun!
Park located at 1765 Royal Ave in Simi Valley (enter the parking lot off Thompson). 

July 3
"Cornhole and Cola" will be held at the Oak Park Community Center from 3 - 4 pm. Join us for a soda and to play some cornhole. 

July 4  - Happy 4th of July from Rancho Simi Recreation and Park District! We hope you have a safe holiday and enjoy the local fireworks show!

July 5
Kids Night Out is a fun event that was incorporated into the Before and After School Club/Summer Day Camp program to allow parents an affordable night out. It’s your lucky day – we are waiving the registration fee for tonight! Youth attending must be 12 years of age and younger, as well as potty trained. The event runs from 6 – 9 pm on Friday, July 5th at Houghton Schreiber Park. Staff are with the Before and After School Club/Summer Day Camp and are CPR and First Aid certified. A registration form will need to be completed by the parent/guardian upon arrival at the event or save yourself time and pre-register at www.rsrpd.org using code KNO107-2. Event will include dinner, activity, and movie. 

July 6
Aquapalooza is a hosted at the Rancho Simi Community Pool from 1:00 – 4:00 pm. This water play day features floating raft races, soap and slide, balloon toss, corn hole, inflatable obstacle course, water basketball, and a tire pool cross.
Fairy Tales in the Park is hosted by Gypsies in a Trunk, in partnership with Rancho Simi Recreation and Park District. The outdoor show begins at 4:00 pm. July’s event, Robyn Hood, will be located at the Rancho Simi Community Park Outdoor Amphitheater, 1765 Royal Ave. in Simi Valley. Bring a picnic basket and blankets and enjoy the show.

July 7
Quench your thirst at our Lemonade at “Lemon” Park event from 2:00 – 3:00 pm. We will be serving lemonade and snacks, as we host a variety of field games and activities. Event held at Rancho Tapo Community Park, “Lemon Park”, located at 3700 Avenida Simi in Simi Valley.

July 8
Did you know the Rancho Santa Susana Community Center offers a daily or monthly aerobics program? With multiple class opportunities throughout the week and day, we hope you find a class that fits perfect with your workout schedule. Try our evening class from 6:30 – 7:30 pm – today we are waiving the daily fee! Don’t forget to pick up a schedule of all the classes while you are at the Center.

July 9
Kids wanted to come fly kites with us. Make a kite on-site at the park and fly it at our "Kites at Coyote" event from 3 - 4 pm. Coyote Hills Park is located at 275 Valley Gate Rd. in Simi Valley. 

July 10
Have you ever played Bocce Ball? Come play again or come learn for the first time at Rancho Tapo Community Park from 8:30 am – 10:00 am.

July 11
Eat, Learn, Play is a collaborative program between Rancho Simi Recreation and Park District, Simi Valley Unified School District, Food Share the Simi Valley Public Library. The program serves to provide a daily lunch to youth, in addition to weekly food distribution, nutritional education, as well as literacy activities, crafts and games. The School District will provide a free youth lunch at 11:45 am. At noon, Rancho Simi Recreation and Park District will provide a free craft and game. Program held at Rancho Simi Community Park, 1765 Royal Ave. in Simi Valley.

July 12
Come workout with us this morning from 8:30 – 9:30 am – today we are waiving the daily fee! Don’t forget to pick up a schedule of all the classes. Aerobics class held at Rancho Santa Susana Community Center located at 5005-C Los Angeles Ave. in Simi Valley. 

July 13
Grab your blankets and your lawn chairs for a night of music. July 13th’s Music in the Park features a tribute to Prince, so come sing or dance with us at the Oak Canyon Community Park in Oak Park. Music starts at 6:30 pm. Food vendors on-site. Visit www.rsrpd.org for information on where to park.

July 14
Calling all kids, ages 8 to 14! Come expand your skills or try a new sport at our Volleyball Clinic. Held at the Rancho Santa Susana Community Center from 3 - 4 pm , the clinic serves as a great way to learn about the sport of volleyball, as well as test your skills and interests. Want more? We’ll be taking registrations for our Coed Instructional Volleyball League that starts in September.

July 15
Let’s get outdoors and walk together around the park. Join us from 2:00 – 3:30 pm at Rancho Madera Community Park, as we walk around the park and then cool off with an Ice Cream Social.

July 16
Cool off from the Summer heat at the Pool, while getting some exercise. Join us for Lap Swimming from 5:30 am – 6:30 am, 11:00 am – 1:00 pm, or 7:00 pm – 8:30 pm at the Rancho Simi Pool, 1765 Royal Ave. in Simi Valley.

July 17

July 18
Yoga for Everyone! Join us for an evening workout from 7:00 – 8:00 pm at the Oak Park Community Center.

July 19
Retro arcade and game play at Berylwood Park from 6:00 – 8:00 pm. This building is also home to our SoCal Travel Camp and Teen Activities so come check it out.

July 20
We’re going back to the 90’s at our July 20th Music in the Park event. Pack your blankets and lawn chairs and join us for a night of music. Music starts at 6:30 pm, but come on out early and enjoy the park. Bring a picnic dinner or buy dinner from a variety of vendors.  Parking on-site in lots and softball fields off Thompson Ave.

July 21
Take a step back in time as you enter the Santa Susana Train Depot. See what life was like living at a train depot, explore the artifacts and be memorized by the interactive model trains as they glide around the track. Museum is open from 1:00 – 4:00 pm. Located at 6503 Katherine Road in Simi Valley.

July 22
Designed especially for kids 2 - 8 our "Dino Dig" is a great way to explore Mayfair Park's Dino playarea. Come participate in the Dino Dig from 9 - 10 am, then stay and play at the park. Mayfair Park is located at 2550 Caldwell Ave. in Simi Valley. 

 

July 23
Have you taken your furry friend to the Simi Valley Dog Park? Come run with us from 4:00 – 5:00 pm. First 30 people will receive a free doggie bag case. Located at 2251 Lost Canyons Drive.

July 24
Strathearn Historical Park and Museum is a true gem in Simi Valley. If you have never been or would like to explore the site again, join us for a docent led tour. The tour starts promptly at 1:00 pm. Located at 137 Strathearn Place in Simi Valley.

July 25
Enjoy the outdoors and a game of Shuffleboard. No experience required – come learn and play from 1:15 – 3:00 pm. Shuffleboard courts located at Rancho Simi Community Park, 1765 Royal Ave in Simi Valley near the large picnic pavilion.

July 26
Bring the kids to Indian Springs Park in Oak Park from 10 - 11 am for a Nature Craft. Indian Springs is located at 4800 Rockfield St. in Oak Park. 

July 27
Grab your chairs and blankets and head outdoors for an outdoor movie experience. Whether you have seen the movie or not, we bet you haven’t seen it outdoors on our 40-foot inflatable movie screen. Pre-movie activities start at 6:30 pm, with the movie starting at dusk. Event held at the Rancho Simi Community Park Softball Fields. July 27th’s movie is How to Train Your Dragon The Hidden World.

July 28
Take a hike in Corriganville with one of our Park District Rangers. Meet in the parking lot by the Kiosk at 2:00 pm. Hike will include a walk through Corriganville and an opportunity to talk with the Ranger about their roles and the geography of the area. Meet and Greet and Hike expected to go until 5:00 pm. Please bring a water bottle, comfortable shoes and protective sun wear. Light snacks will be provided. Park located at 7001 Smith Road in Simi Valley.

July 29
Want to try a round of golf for the first time? Come to Sinaloa Golf Course from 12 - 2 pm on Monday, July 29 and play a round. Limited entry. Sinaloa Golf Course is located at 980 Madera Rd in Simi Valley. 

July 30
Let’s get crafty! Preschoolers wanted for a time of crafting and fun. Join us at the Knolls Station from 10:00 – 11:30 am, located at 1262 Cypress Street in Simi Valley, for some games and crafts.

July 31
Do you have trouble finding a good time to work out? Try Lunchtime Pilates! Take your lunch break or just join us in the middle of the day for a 40-minute workout. Lunchtime Pilates takes place at the RSRPD Activity Center, Room 4 at 4201 Guardian Street in Simi Valley from 12:10 pm – 12:50 pm. Bring your own mat.
