Rancho Simi Recreation and Park District is proud to provided "the garden" as one of many park sites it offers to the community. Several years ago, the Oak Park Gardeners pitched the idea of a community garden to the Board of Directors for the Rancho Simi Recreation and Park District.  The existing site was nothing more than an unused dirt lot.  The garden represented an opportunity to beautify the location and allow the recreation activity of community gardening in a centrally located area within the community of Oak Park.  The Park District developed the site and the Oak Park Gardeners have since performed an excellent job of maintaining and improving the site for the benefit of the community gardeners. 

 

The Park District has a great relationship with the Community Foundation for Oak Park and with the Oak Park Gardeners, both have been excellent stewards of this wonderful Community Garden.
